Brandon Minga is a multidisciplinary artist and lecturer at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD), where he serves as a guest instructor. He specializes in mixed media collage, sculpture, and public art installations, focusing on themes of Milwaukee’s industrial heritage, cultural identity, and urban landscapes. His work integrates historical elements with modern aesthetics, often blending industrial motifs with natural and artistic expressions.
Education: Minga holds a BA in Fine Art Illustration from MIAD. His professional career includes roles as a commercial illustrator at Kohler and Art Director at Kohls before transitioning to full-time independent artistry. He currently leads the House of RAD and operates Mingadigm, an agency specializing in branding, interior design, and commissioned art.
Key Projects: His public art includes installations at Fiserv Forum, the Black Holocaust Museum, and Uptown Crossings Pocket Park (recipient of the 2020 Mayor’s Design Award). Recent works for the Wisconsin Center District’s Baird Center include seven mixed-media collages such as Milwaukee Rising and The Town Sextet, which celebrate Milwaukee’s history and future through industrial and cultural narratives.
Awards: Minga’s recognition includes the Mayor’s Design Award and residency finalist honors. His art often combines steel sculpture with digital collage, reflecting a fusion of technical craftsmanship and creative storytelling.
