Brandon C. Vick

Brandon C. Vick is an associate professor of economics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), affiliated with the Eberly College of Business and the Finance and Economics Department. He is also a research associate with the Administration and Leadership Studies Research and Training Center (ALS-RTC) since 2017. His research focuses on applied microeconomics, labor economics, development economics, and health economics, with particular attention to criminal justice policy, veteran reintegration, firearm injury costs, and economic disparities faced by marginalized groups.

Recent Work Highlights: His 2022 study revealed that non-fatal firearm injuries cost Pennsylvania $455 million annually, emphasizing broader economic impacts beyond direct medical costs. His 2020 analysis found veterans experience wage gaps varying by gender and race, with female and Black veterans showing premiums over non-veterans. He has also explored pandemic effects on crime trends and summer bridge programs' educational impacts.

Labs/Teams: Active researcher at ALS-RTC, collaborating on policy-relevant studies in criminal justice and economic development. Former Peace Corps volunteer experience informs his focus on personal and economic development.

Teaching: Currently teaches Economics of Crime, Labor Economics, and Health Economics courses.
