James J. Jozefowicz

Dr. James J. Jozefowicz is a Professor of Economics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), affiliated with the Department of Finance & Economics within the Eberly College of Business. He has been a faculty member since 1999 and holds leadership roles, including chair of the Department of Finance & Economics Student Affairs Committee and the Department of Finance & Economics Evaluation Committee. His expertise spans econometrics, industrial organization, and monetary economics, with a focus on movie economics, economic education, and regional studies.

Dr. Jozefowicz earned his PhD from the State University of New York at Albany and dual undergraduate degrees in Biology and Economics from Marist College. He has received prestigious awards, including the IUP University Senate Distinguished Faculty Award for Teaching (2005) and the 2023 Faculty Best Paper Award in Economics. His research often involves undergraduate co-authors, emphasizing student collaboration.

In teaching, he leads the Honors Concentration in Economics, supervising over 90 honors theses. Students under his guidance have presented at national conferences like the Eastern Economic Association and have won research awards.
