Brandi Ray serves as Lecturer in the Teacher Education Department at Texas Tech University's College of Education. She holds a B.S. in Multidisciplinary Studies from Texas Tech University (2007) and an M.S. in Learning and Developmental Sciences from Indiana University (2013). With over a decade of teaching experience, she previously taught English Language Arts and Reading for grades 4-5 in Lubbock ISD and Bloomington, IN public schools, later serving as a literacy coach.
Research Focus: Examines teacher transformation through professional development, literacy pedagogy, and play-based learning approaches. Current doctoral research investigates intersections of teacher empowerment, literacy instruction frameworks, and play integration in elementary curricula.
Instructional Expertise: Develops coursework for pre-service teachers focusing on evidence-based literacy strategies, curriculum design, and developmental learning theories. Maintains active classroom research on reading comprehension interventions and writing pedagogy.
