Bouhelier Alexandre

Alexandre Bouhelier is a CNRS Research Director and head of the ARCEN-Carnot technology platform at the University of Bourgogne, France. He is affiliated with the Institute of Condensed Matter (ICB) under the Photonics department. His research focuses on near-field optics, electromagnetic field enhancements, and plasmonics.

• Education: Doctoral thesis in Physics from the University of Basel (2001).
• Professional Trajectory: Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Optics, University of Rochester (2001-2003); researcher at Argonne National Laboratory (2003-2005); CNRS researcher since 2005; promoted to Research Director in 2014.
• Research Expertise: Specialized in near-field optics, plasmonics, and development of components for surface plasmon control. Formerly involved in electromagnetic field enhancements and optical near-field applications.

Labs & Teams: Leads the ARCEN-Carnot technology platform at the ICB Laboratory.
