Bong Jit Boon

Dr. Bong Jit Boon serves as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus, where she completed both her Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (Honours) in 2020 and PhD in 2025 before joining the faculty.

Her research specializes in Traffic Flow Theory and Modelling with emphasis on practical transportation solutions for Southeast Asian urban environments. She employs data-driven and vision-based methodologies to analyze complex intersection dynamics, particularly focusing on multi-lane roundabouts where her work examines critical gap formation, lane utilization patterns, and the impact of traffic control measures on capacity and safety.

Dr. Bong's publication record demonstrates consistent focus on transportation engineering challenges, with recent work analyzing how police enforcement affects roundabout operations and how driver behavior varies between peak and off-peak traffic conditions.

Her research excellence is recognized through significant awards:
