Bogdan Oprea

Dr. Bogdan Oprea is a Professor at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the University of Bucharest, where he has taught since 2007 and currently serves as Director of the Journalism Department. He holds a PhD in Communication Sciences (2021) and a double degree in Journalism and Philosophy-Journalism (2006), with a master's in Communication Campaigns (2010).

• Research Focus: Online disinformation, media innovation, institutional communication, and digital journalism
• Teaching: Courses on fake news verification, media innovation, and written press production
• International Experience: Scholarships from the U.S. Department of State (SUSI for Scholars), European Commission, and Erasmus program

His award-winning work includes the best doctoral thesis in Social Sciences (2021) and the most innovative course in Social Sciences (2022). He has delivered over 60 lectures globally and combines academic work with high-level public communication roles, including spokesperson for Romanian institutions and the University of Bucharest. His volunteer activities as a paramedic instructor and humanitarian mission participant further highlight his multidisciplinary engagement.
