About
Bobby Bowman, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Cancer Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on the evolutionary mechanisms of leukemic transformation, FLT3 mutation dynamics, and interclonal interactions in acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
- Education: BA in Molecular Cellular Biology (Vanderbilt University, 2010), PhD in Cancer Biology (Gerstner Sloan Kettering Graduate Program, 2016)

Research Interests: The Bowman Lab investigates oncogenic dependency in leukemic stem cells, FLT3-driven AML cell of origin, and interclonal interactions during leukemic progression. Projects include synthetic biology modeling of mutation cooperativity, single-cell genomic profiling of subclonal ecosystems, and development of cell-type-specific mouse models.
Lab Personnel: Michael Bowman (Postdoctoral Researcher), Lesley Moreno (Administrative Assistant), Nisarg Shah (Research Specialist), Angela Youn (Research Specialist), Roopsha Bandopadhyay (PhD Student), Anushka Gandhi and Shreeya Gounder (Undergraduate Researchers).
