Bożena Edyta Czech

dr hab. Bożena Edyta Czech is a Professor at the Department of Radiochemistry and Environmental Chemistry, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. With 104 publications and an h-index of 24 (Web of Science), her work focuses on environmental chemistry, photocatalysis, and adsorption processes for pollutant removal from water and soil systems.

Her research explores biochar applications in soil-vegetable systems for phthalate removal, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) toxicity mitigation, and engineered nanocomposites for pharmaceutical pollutant adsorption. Key projects include Sheng-2 NCN (DEC-2021/40/Q/NZ8/00006) and OPUS 16 NCN (2018/31/B/NZ9/00317).

Recent publications demonstrate expertise in biochar modification, carbon nanotube interactions, and UV/H2O2 oxidation processes, with notable work on phthalate fate (2024) and PAH bioavailability (2024). She serves as editor for Environmental Technology & Innovation (IF=6.7) and Discover Applied Sciences.
