Bill Braudis is an Assistant Professor in the Film & TV Department at Boston University. With a BA in History and a Masters degree, his career spans stand-up comedy, TV writing, and screenwriting. He transitioned from over 1,000 comedy performances—including appearances on The Tonight Show and Late Night with Conan O’Brien—to writing for award-winning animated sitcoms like Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist, Science Court, and Home Movies. His live-action work includes Raising Dad, and he directed the independent feature Sweeney Killing Sweeney (2018).
His teaching focuses on scriptwriting, joke writing, and storytelling techniques. Notable achievements include a screenplay semi-finalist placement in the Nicholl Fellowship and contributions to BU’s Film & TV program, including the launch of a new studio facility in 2025. His creative output bridges comedy, narrative film, and educational initiatives in the entertainment industry.
