Bianca Freeman is a 2024-2026 UC President’s Postdoctoral Fellow in the Travers Department of Political Science at UC Berkeley. She holds a PhD from UC San Diego’s Department of Political Science (2024). Her research examines the politics of race and racism in international law, particularly how racial hierarchies shape state agreements and legal norms. She has published in top journals like the Annual Review of Political Science, Security Studies, and International Studies Review.
Her work is supported by grants from the UC Office of the President (UCOP), UC Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation (UCIGCC), and the American Political Science Association (APSA). Her research bridges critical race theory and international law, analyzing how systemic racism influences global governance frameworks. Outside academia, she enjoys ballet classes and beach outings.
