Bevin Ashenmiller

Bevin Ashenmiller is an Associate Professor of Economics at Occidental College, where she has been appointed since 2005. She holds a B.A. from Princeton University and a Ph.D. from UC Santa Barbara.

As an environmental economist, Ashenmiller conducts research in three primary areas: recycling policy, evaluation of environmental programs, and energy and climate policy. Her work often bridges economic theory with real-world policy challenges, including empirical analyses of legislative impacts on citizen behavior and environmental outcomes.

Recent publications examine topics such as anti-SLAPP legislation effects on environmental monitoring, economic impacts of bottle laws, and recycling-related externalities. These studies highlight her focus on quantifying policy efficacy and unintended consequences.
