Bethan Jones is a Senior Lecturer in English and Programme Director for MA in English Literature and MA in Creative Writing at the University of Hull, within the School of Humanities. She specializes in Disability (Blind) Studies, D.H. Lawrence scholarship, modernism, and the intersections of literature with music. Her research focuses on visually impaired protagonists in 21st-century texts and has led collaborations with the charity Sight Support, funded by Wellcome Trust grants.
Her monograph The Last Poems of D.H. Lawrence: Shaping a Late Style (2010) won a prestigious award from the D.H. Lawrence Society of North America.
