Beth McCoy is a Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Department of English and Creative Writing at the University of Winnipeg. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Delaware and has taught courses on Literature, Racism, and Medicine, African American migration narratives, and the works of Octavia Butler. Her research integrates Afro-futurism, Black speculative fiction, and the materiality of texts as objects within racialized contexts.
Her scholarly publications focus on African American literature, archival practices, and cultural trauma. Key themes include:
