Beth McCann serves as Lecturer in Screenwriting and Programme Leader for the MA Film Production at The University of Salford's School of Arts, Media and Creative Technologies, with additional affiliation to the Creative Technology Research Centre.

This academic work directly informs her practical screenwriting consultancy through Scriptwriting North, which has supported hundreds of writers in developing industry-ready narratives.

She actively bridges academia and industry through collaborations with BBC Writers, Northwest Vision and Media, and BFI Film Hub North. Her award-winning short film production experience provides tangible insights into storytelling execution.
