Bertis B. Little

Bertis B. Little, PhD, is a Professor in the School of Public Health and Information Sciences and an Adjunct Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Louisville. He is also a Senior Research Scientist at the VA Medical Center-Dallas, focusing on Medical Service and Cardiology research.

• Education: PhD in Physical Anthropology and Applied Mathematics from the University of Texas-Austin, MA in Primatology/Computer Science from Ball State University, and BA in Anthropology from Appalachian State University.

Dr. Little's research spans applied mathematics, data mining, and population health, with emphasis on clinical trial design, database architecture, and risk factor analysis for conditions like type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. His work includes projects on international interventional cardiology trials, data warehousing, and studies in Mexico on genetic isolates and childhood obesity.

Scientific awards include fellowships from AAAS, Royal Anthropological Institute, and Royal Society of Medicine, alongside data mining accolades from IEEE, Teradata, and TDWI. He has served as Academic Editor for PLoS One and Associate Editor for multiple Frontiers journal sections.
