Benoît Roux

Benoît Roux is the Amgen Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Professor of Neuroscience Institute at the University of Chicago. He joined the University of Chicago faculty in 2006 and has established himself as a leading researcher in computational biophysics and theoretical chemistry.

Dr. Roux's research focuses on applying theoretical and computational methods to understand the structure, dynamics, and function of biological systems at the atomic level. His work centers on molecular dynamics simulations to study ion channels, biomolecular systems, and develop new computational approaches including polarizable force fields and efficient sampling methods. His research has significant implications for understanding fundamental biological processes and developing new therapeutic approaches.
