Benjamin Talton is Professor of History and Executive Director of Howard University's Moorland-Spingarn Research Center. His scholarship examines African diaspora histories, Ghanaian politics, and US-Africa relations.
Education includes B.A. from Howard University and Ph.D. from University of Chicago.
Research investigates culture-politics intersections in Africa/African diaspora, reconstructing decolonization narratives and examining racial/gender dimensions in historical scholarship.
Recent publications analyze congressional engagement with Africa, Ghanaian ethnic politics, and methodological challenges in diaspora research.
