Benjamin Ansa

Benjamin Ansa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Management, Economics, & Policy at the School of Public Health, Augusta University. He holds academic appointments in both the Department of Health Management, Economics, & Policy and The Graduate School. His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Applied Health Science (Augusta University, 2022), an MS in Clinical Research (Morehouse School of Medicine, 2012), and an MBBS in Medicine (University of Nigeria, 1988).

Dr. Ansa's research focuses on public health disparities, healthcare performance improvement, and preventive medicine. Specific interests include colonoscopy screening practices, rural-urban vaccination disparities, social determinants of health, and the long-term health impacts of socioeconomic factors like child marriage. His work combines epidemiological methods with policy analysis to address health equity challenges.

He actively contributes to academic service, serving on the MPH Curriculum Committee (2024–Present) and Faculty Search Committee (2023–2024). Professionally, he holds editorial roles, including Associate Editor at Plos One JOURNAL and Board Member of the Journal of Georgia Public Health Association.

Dr. Ansa teaches MPHM 7210 Healthcare Performance Improvement, integrating his research expertise into graduate education. His scholarly output reflects a commitment to translating population health insights into actionable strategies.
