Ben Powell

Ben Powell is a mathematician/statistician and faculty member at the University of York, where he leads research in time series forecasting and Bayesian analysis within the Statistics and Probability Research Group. He serves as Head of Admissions and teaches modules in Bayesian Statistics and Linear Models.

His research focuses on identifying patterns in historical data to predict future outcomes, with applications spanning climatology, economics, bioinformatics, and medical data. Current investigations emphasize forecast aggregation and bioinformatic modeling of biological systems.

Dr. Powell actively advises PhD students in statistical methodologies and maintains collaborations across disciplines to solve domain-specific prediction challenges.
