Ben Koger is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computing and Department of Zoology and Physiology at the University of Wyoming. His research combines drone, satellite, and ground-based imagery with deep learning to study animal behavior and population dynamics. Current projects include monitoring landscapes in the American West and analyzing Pacific salmon ecosystems in Alaska.
His lab develops computer vision tools for ecological monitoring and studies collective navigation and predator-prey dynamics. Koger teaches Foundations in Biological Programming, focusing on software development principles for biological research.
