Behrouz Taji

Behrouz Taji is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Mathematics and Statistics, UNSW Sydney. He earned his PhD in 2014 from McGill University, preceded by advanced studies at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London.

As an algebraic geometer, his research bridges birational geometry, Hodge theory, moduli spaces, and canonical metrics. His recent work explores Arakelov inequalities, stability of orbifolds, and hyperbolicity in higher dimensions, often linking geometric structures with moduli-theoretic properties.

His publications span journals like Journal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik, Mathematische Zeitschrift, and Annales de l’Institut Fourier, reflecting a focus on foundational and applied aspects of algebraic geometry. He holds grants including the ARC Discovery Project DP240101934 and a CNRS-funded IEA grant for collaborative research with E. Rousseau and S. Kovács.
