Dr. Fiacre Rougieux is a Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering. He holds a PhD in Photovoltaics and Semiconductor Materials from the Australian National University (ANU). His research focuses on advanced solar cell processes, system design, and degradation mechanisms in photovoltaic materials. He has published over 100 papers and secured over 10 grants as principal or co-investigator.
Research Interests: His work spans semiconductor defect engineering, characterization techniques for high-efficiency solar cells, and circular economy applications in energy systems. He collaborates globally with leading photovoltaics laboratories and welcomes student exchanges.
Supervision: Currently supervising four PhD students (Hanrong Huang, Ryan Hall, Abhinav Sharma, Yalun Cai) and has previously guided seven students. Offers projects in high-efficiency materials, degradation mitigation, and PV system diagnostics.
Teaching: Teaches SOLA3507 (Solar Cells) and SOLA2540 (Applied PV). Active in curriculum development addressing modern challenges like AI in assessment integrity.
