Becky Shubber-Barton is a Lecturer in Football Development and Coaching at St Mary's University, and Lead for Women’s Football on the Chelsea Programme. With over 10 years of experience in teaching and coaching across the UK, Spain, and Australia, she specializes in women’s/girls’ football and ethical, evidence-informed practice. She holds an MSc in Psychology of Sport and Exercise from Leeds Beckett University.
Her practical contributions include founding a junior girl’s football squad in Wakefield and coaching at AFC Wimbledon Foundation’s Girls Player Development Centre. She has also volunteered at player development centers to enhance her coaching expertise.
Her research focuses on effective coaching strategies in the female football sector, as part of an FA-commissioned project analyzing the future of women’s and girls’ football. She actively contributes to grassroots and professional development initiatives in women’s football.
