Beatriz García Prieto is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, University of León, Spain. Her research focuses on Contemporary History with special emphasis on women's rights, democratic memory, and gendered experiences during the Second Republic, Spanish Civil War, and Francoist period. She leads research within the INDETEHI/HISMECON group (Historical Topics/History and Contemporary Memory) and has a PhD in History (2022) from the University of León, supervised by Dr. Javier Rodríguez González.
Her work explores critical aspects of female agency through judicial divorce processes, economic repression, political resistance, and educational contributions. Beatriz's research spans memory recovery, gendered repression, and transatlantic migrations, with a particular focus on Leonese case studies. She has contributed to public history initiatives and educational materials for memory recovery.
