Beata Komar is a University Professor at the Department of Fine Arts and Design within the Faculty of Architecture at Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Poland. Holding the titles of Dr. hab. (habilitated doctor, 2015), engineer, and architect, she maintains an active academic profile with 93 publications and a total ministerial score of 1,396.
Her primary research focuses on quality of the housing environment, visual arts in the built environment, universal design, and visual information. She developed the Urban Audit methodology for assessing housing estate spaces through sustainable development lenses (ecology, economy, society, culture), with emphasis on accessibility for blind and visually impaired users.
