Bart Skarzynski

Bart Skarzynski is an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, affiliated with the College of Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He also participates in the Technical Communication Certificate Program and teaches courses in writing and technical communication.

• Education: Two Master's degrees in Creative Writing, focusing on refining language skills after initial studies in mathematics and economics.

Skarzynski's research and teaching interests include technical writing, composition, the history of science and technology, and professional ethics. He has taught these subjects extensively to engineering students, including at The Ohio State University prior to his current role.

His primary responsibilities involve instructing courses such as EPD 155 and EPD 397, grading student work, and fostering professional communication skills within engineering education. Outside academia, he pursues writing a Polish/Canadian/American novel.

Skarzynski's transition from finance to academia was driven by his passion for language and literature. He brings interdisciplinary perspectives to his teaching, shaped by his diverse educational background and professional experiences.
