Barry R. Chiswick

Barry R. Chiswick is a Professor of Economics and International Affairs at George Washington University's Department of Economics and Elliott School of International Affairs. He served as Department Chair from 2011–2015 and previously held the title of UIC Distinguished Professor (2002–2010) and Head of Economics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His research focuses on Labor Economics, the Economics of Immigration, and the Economics of Religion, with notable contributions to understanding immigrant labor market adjustment and minority socioeconomic progress.

Dr. Chiswick earned his Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1967 and held visiting positions at prestigious institutions like Stanford, Princeton, and Hebrew University.
