Barbara Götsch

Barbara Götsch is a Post-Doc Researcher and Lecturer at the University of Vienna's Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology. Her research explores psychological and organizational anthropology, focusing on theory of mind, mentalizing, narrative, and ageing. She investigates how individuals use humour and storytelling to navigate crises, confinement, and life transitions.

Projects include studies on crisis narratives among older adults in Vienna during the COVID-19 pandemic and urban future imaginaries in Southeast Asia. Her work combines ethnographic methods with interdisciplinary approaches to subjectivity and social relations.
