Barbara Fritzsche is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Central Florida (UCF), part of the College of Sciences. She joined UCF in 1996 after earning her PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of South Florida (1993). Prior to UCF, she taught at the University of North Florida and served as Project Director in Research and Development at Psychological Assessment Resources, Inc. Her expertise spans psychological test evaluation, job analysis, and managerial assessment. Dr. Fritzsche’s research focuses on workplace diversity, aging workforce challenges, and workplace wellness initiatives. She has held leadership roles, including I/O PhD Program Director (2003–2008) and MSIOP Program Director (2010–2015; 2016–2018).
Her scholarly work addresses ageism, cross-cultural workforce dynamics, and training effectiveness. Notable contributions include validating assessment tools like the Self-Directed Search (SDS) and exploring stereotypes affecting older workers. In 2013, she received the College of Sciences Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching.
Dr. Fritzsche’s advising and program leadership have shaped UCF’s industrial-organizational psychology programs. She currently oversees the MSIOP Program and mentors graduate students. Her research lab focuses on advancing inclusive workplace practices and understanding age-related challenges in diverse cultural contexts.
