- PhD in Computational Genomics from Rockefeller University (2005)
- BA in Microbiology from Ohio Wesleyan University (1996-2000)
Research Focus: Her work bridges computational genomics and biomedical applications, specializing in protein domain analysis, transcript diversity impacts, and text-mining of biomedical literature. Current projects explore antimicrobial polymers and neurotransmitter receptor roles in behavioral disorders through data-driven methodologies.
Graduate Supervision: She has co-supervised six advanced degree candidates including PhD theses on protein isoform variability (Kafkas, 2012) and chitosan biomaterials (Yalinca, 2013), plus Master's research on GPCR domain analysis (Babalola, 2017) and antibacterial polymer films (Soud, 2013).
