B. Brian Foster is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Virginia. His research focuses on race, ethnicity, and cultural studies, with particular attention to Black life in the American South and hip-hop culture. He has contributed to critical race theory discussions and qualitative research methodologies.
Recent publications examine racial scholarship pedagogy, ethnographic perspectives on Black identity in the Mississippi Delta, and sociological implications of hip-hop culture. His work appears in the Sociology of Race and Ethnicity journal.
