Donald F. Tibbs is a Professor of Law at Drexel University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law, where he serves as Director of the American Bar Association Legal Education Police Practices Consortium Fellowship Program. His scholarship centers on racial justice, human rights, and constitutional citizenship, with expertise in African American legal history, criminal procedure, and hip-hop's relationship with law. He authored From Black Power To Prison Power and co-edited Hip Hop And The Law, with a forthcoming book Unapologetically Black examining policing's constitutional impact.
His research explores how legal systems intersect with racial dynamics and popular culture. Professor Tibbs has published in numerous law journals including the Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal and Georgetown Journal of New Critical Race Perspectives. He is a frequent media commentator on legal issues, appearing on NPR, WHYY Radio, and in Time Magazine.
