Azita Osanloo

Azita Osanloo is an Associate Professor of English and Director of the Writing Center at Centre College. She joined the faculty in 2015 and holds a B.A. in Creative Writing and Russian from Oberlin College, an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Montana, and a Ph.D. in Literature and Creative Writing from Florida State University.

Her research interests focus on noir and pulp fiction genres, translation studies, and adaptation studies. She actively contributes to interdisciplinary programs such as Middle East Studies and Film Studies at the college.

Osanloo has received notable recognitions including the Centre Scholar designation in 2019 and the Kirk Award for teaching excellence in 2021. She is affiliated with the Humanities department and oversees the Centre Learning Commons initiatives.
