Aysha Fleming

Dr. Aysha Fleming is a Principal Research Scientist at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and an Adjunct Researcher at the University of Tasmania since 2015. She is also an Earth System Governance Research Fellow and a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Marine Socio-ecology (CMS).

Aysha specializes in climate adaptation, discourse analysis, and rural sociology, with expertise in cross-sectoral analysis across agriculture, fisheries, and forestry. Her work focuses on social transformations for sustainability, including natural capital accounting and climate services for agriculture. She has led projects on digital agriculture, agroforestry, and climate change adaptation in the wine industry and marine supply chains.

Dr. Fleming has received prestigious awards such as the Australian Postgraduate Award (2007–2010) and the Endeavour Executive Award (2017). She actively participates in international conferences, including the Kavli Frontiers of Science Symposium and Future Earth Young Scientists Networking Conference, and serves as a Global Young Academy member and committee chair.
