Aurore DUBUFFET

Aurore DUBUFFET is a Lecturer in Microbiology at the Université Clermont Auvergne (UCA), affiliated with the Faculty of Biology. She holds a position in the Microorganisms, Genome, Environment Laboratory (UMR CNRS 6023) and is part of the Host-Parasite Interactions Team. Her research focuses on evolutionary ecology of Microsporidia, their diversity, phylogeny, and transmission dynamics across ecosystems, particularly in mosquitoes (via the MIMOSA project). She also develops in situ hybridization (FISH) probes for Microsporidia, with applications in diagnostics and ecological studies.

Teaching responsibilities include Virology, Parasitology, Evolutionary Microbiology, and laboratory safety training. Recent publications explore antiparasitic drug discovery, lake ecosystem Microsporidia dynamics, and molecular mechanisms of host cell invasion. She collaborates with international teams on projects linking microbial ecology to public health and environmental science.
