Auke Pols

Auke Pols is a Lecturer in Responsible Innovation and Ethics of Technology at the Knowledge, Technology and Innovation (KTI) group at Wageningen University. He also serves as Second Secretary of the Examining Board Social Sciences, overseeing educational assessment quality. His research focuses on responsibility in socio-technical systems, including Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), energy transitions in the global South, and ethics of technology. He coordinates PhD skills training and has contributed to projects like RRI-Practice and NWO MVI studies on biofuels and smart grids.

Research Interests: His work spans RRI institutionalization, sustainability transitions, ethics of technological responsibility, and energy systems in developing regions. Notable projects include analyzing Wageningen University's RRI practices and investigating biofuel impacts in Tanzania and India.

Publications: Auke has authored/co-authored influential works on energy justice, biofuel certification, and RRI implementation. Recent publications include Dilemmas of Energy Transitions in the Global South (2021) and Implementing Responsible Research and Innovation (2021).
