She holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) and Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne, with postdoctoral training at Stanford University and ANU. Her research focuses on immunology, cancer immunotherapy, and bioinformatics, particularly in novel protein characterization and therapeutic development.
- Teaching: Convenes BIOL3141 Infection and Immunity, lectures in first-year biology and medical programs.
Research interests include T cell biology, cancer immunotherapy, and microbiome effects on immune responses. Her lab investigates novel proteins in human/mouse genomes and develops cancer therapies (recent clinical trial approval).
Recent publications (2021-2025) explore microbiome-antibiotic interactions, cancer vaccine efficacy in oncology patients, and T cell dynamics in checkpoint inhibitor responses. She leads/co-investigates 13 projects including the EVEREST study on SARS-CoV-2 vaccine efficacy in cancer patients and yeast-display technology for antibody production.
Grants: Active in immunotherapy research funding, including projects on checkpoint inhibitors and colorectal cancer immunotherapy. No explicit awards listed, but notable h-index 9 with 919 citations.
