Fries' research investigates the sociological dimensions of spatial design and artistic practice, with particular emphasis on feminist architectural theory and the institutional frameworks governing art. Her work bridges socioprudence with material culture studies, examining how built environments shape social power dynamics and cultural production through interdisciplinary lenses of spatial and architectural sociology.
Since 2015, she has co-founded DUCTUS GbR, providing art collection management and cultural marketing services, while conducting guided tours at the Middle Rhine Museum since 2009.
