Asko Ellman

Asko Ellman is a Professor in Automation Technology and Mechanical Engineering. He holds a Doctor of Science (Technology) in Mechanical Engineering (1992) and a Licentiate of Science (Technology) in Mechanical Engineering (1990). His research focuses on Model-Based Definition, Additive Manufacturing feasibility, solar energy systems, and early-stage design methodologies.

Recent work includes studies on solar still thermal efficiency, Model-Based Definition applications in Finnish manufacturing, and virtual-physical workspace dynamics. He actively collaborates on CFD-based thermal analysis and digital twin concepts for industrial systems. Ellman has presented at international conferences like ICED23 and reviewed academic journals. He has acted as an opponent in doctoral defenses and contributed to manufacturing process optimization research.

His research contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to affordable and clean energy and industry innovation.
