Dr. Asim Ali is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Undergraduate Studies in American Studies at the University of Maryland. His research focuses on ethnography with an emphasis on digital media, community formation, and cultural identity. He holds a Ph.D. in American Studies and an M.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Research Interests: Ethnography of digital culture, media studies, popular culture, race/ethnicity, and religion in globalization contexts.
