Arushi Sahay

Arushi Sahay is a PhD Candidate at the Geneva Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, affiliated with its Gender Centre. Her research focuses on the socio-political and cultural dimensions of reproduction, intersecting policy, health, rights, and gender relations in India.

• Education: BA in Sociology from University of Delhi; MSc in Sociology from London School of Economics.
• Research: Examines female sterilization as a prevalent contraceptive mode in India, reproductive governance, and gendered policy frameworks.

Her publications include critical reviews on ethnographic methodologies and gendered historical narratives. She serves on the Editorial Board of New Sociological Perspectives. Awards include the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship (2022-2025) and Doc-Mobility Grant (2025).
