Caroline Rusterholz is an Eccellenza Assistant Professor affiliated with the International History and Politics Faculty and the Gender Centre. Her research focuses on transnational histories of sexual and reproductive health, family planning, and global health governance. She holds a PhD from the University of Fribourg and has held fellowships at Cambridge University and Birkbeck College.
Her thematic expertise spans migration policies, gender politics, intersectional inequalities, and race relations. Geographically, she specializes in Western Europe and Britain. Current projects include RE:SHARE exploring racialization of SRH charities and minoritized communities' advocacy.
Key publications include monographs on Swiss family size trends (2017), British female doctors' roles in contraceptive knowledge (2020), and a forthcoming study on youth sexuality in postwar Britain (2024). Awards include the Wellcome Trust Fellowship and SNSF Postdoctoral Fellowship.
