Ariel Juarez

Ariel Juarez (AJ), a Lecturer in the Dance Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, specializes in Hip Hop and modern dance forms. He teaches within the School of Education and holds a studio office at B129 Lathrop Hall. Born in Argentina, AJ has over 16 years of dance experience spanning Latin ballroom, lyrical jazz, musical theatre, and contemporary styles.

Education: Studied at the Julio Bocca School of Musical Theatre, where he performed in productions like Applause and Aladdin in Argentina’s Broadway circuit. Professional Experience: Member of Chet Walker’s Fosse company, featured dancer with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises, and choreographer/dancer for Argentina’s Dancing with the Stars, Singing for a Dream, and Dreaming to Dance.

Research/Performance Focus: AJ’s work bridges cultural expression through dance, emphasizing hip-hop’s social narratives and interdisciplinary performance techniques. His choreography blends traditional and contemporary styles, reflecting his diverse training.
