Dr. Ariane Schratter is a Professor of Psychology at Maryville College, where she serves as a Faculty Fellow in the Bonner Foundation’s Community Engaged Learning Initiative and acts as a liaison for community-engaged learning programs. She teaches courses such as Child Development, Child Trauma and Resilience, Child Poverty and Inequality, and the travel study course Global Child Welfare: Switzerland.
- Focuses on integrating community needs (local to global) into the college curriculum
- Champions student development in child advocacy, education, social services, and law
- Collaborates with Tennessee Department of Education, Department of Children’s Services, Blount County Juvenile Courts, and child/family-serving organizations
- Active on advisory committees: Blount County Trauma Responsive Community Board, Department of Children’s Services Community Advisory Board, National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges Blount County Advisory Group
- Supports the University of Tennessee’s HABIT program with her basset hound
