April C. Mattei is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at Randolph-Macon College. A Virginia native and first-generation graduate student, she earned her PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University (2016) after completing her BS in Chemistry at Randolph-Macon College (2010). Her academic journey began with undergraduate research in inorganic chemistry, which led to her doctoral work focused on magnetic nanoparticles for applications in magnetocalorics, permanent magnets, and catalysis.
