Anton Tonchev

Prof. Anton Tonchev, MD, PhD, DSc is a leading academic at the Medical University - Varna, serving as Chair of the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology since 2012 and Director of the Research Institute since 2018. His research focuses on neurogenesis, gliogenesis, and stem cell niches in primates and humans, with particular emphasis on brain repair mechanisms post-ischemia.
