Antoinette Jackson serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Anthropology at the University of South Florida, where she directs the USF Heritage Research Lab and teaches courses including Cultural Anthropology, Anthropology of American Culture, and Critical Race Discourse.

Her research integrates sociocultural and historical anthropology to examine identity formation, representation systems, and the social construction of race/class/gender/ethnicity, with particular focus on American, African American, and African Diaspora cultures through ethnographic methods in United States and Caribbean contexts. She currently supervises seven graduate students across anthropology specializations.
