Marcus Jackson is an Associate Professor and Director of Creative Writing at The Ohio State University, Department of English. He holds a BA from the University of Toledo and an MFA from NYU, and is a Cave Canem Fellow. His work explores African American ethos, race, class, and urban life through poetry. Notable publications include Pardon My Heart (2018, Ohioana Book Award winner), Neighborhood Register (2011), and chapbook Rundown (2009). His poems appear in The New Yorker, Harvard Review, and The Cincinnati Review. Jackson teaches in OSU's MFA program and resides in Columbus with his family.
