Dr. Anthony Fryatt is a Senior Lecturer and Program Manager for the Master of Interior Design at RMIT University's School of AUD. His research explores the role of interiors in shaping human experiences through design practices such as installation, set design, and model-making. He co-leads the design research practice 'Making Distance' with Roger Kemp, which has exhibited globally, including at ACMI and Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art. Anthony has held industry roles as a designer and educator, including as Executive Director of the Interior Design/Interior Architecture Educators Association (IDEA) from 2018 to 2022.
His work bridges academic and professional realms, focusing on spatial relations, participatory inhabitation, and urban environments. He has contributed to conferences and publications in journals like IDEA and TEXT, alongside teaching engagements at institutions such as VCUQatar and University of Technology Lea, PNG. His design projects emphasize relational and complex spatial interventions, reflecting his belief in interiors as dynamic, mediated situations.
